In times of fear and uncertainty, we turn to God our Father, who is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. We are reminded of His promise: "When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they will not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned, and flame will not scorch you" Isaiah 43:2 WEB.
First, let us address the phrase "plead the blood." This is not a biblical term and is not found in Scripture. The power of the blood of Jesus is real and vital for our salvation, but we plead the name of Jesus to be saved as Jesus presented this in the Great Sheep and Goat judgement in Matthew 7:23 when he said "And I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from me, you who work lawlessness.'"
We approach God through faith in the name of Jesus Christ and Him crucified, to provide for our every need.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, seeking Your protection and provision for all who are facing the threat of bad storms. You are the God who calms the storms and brings peace to the chaos. We ask that You quiet the winds and still the waves, preventing any tornadoes from forming. We pray that the power will stay on, and that all will be safe.
Lord, help us to trust in You during these uncertain times. Remind us of Your unfailing love and faithfulness, even in the midst of storms. Guide us to be lights in our communities, extending help and hope to those around us.
We also pray for those who may be experiencing fear or anxiety during this time. Comfort them with Your perfect peace, reminding them that You are in control.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Remember, God is sovereign over the storms of life. He can calm them with a word, or He can use them to draw us closer to Him. Trust in His goodness and faithfulness, knowing that He works all things together for good for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose Romans 8:28 WEB.
Be encouraged by the words of Psalm 91 WEB:
Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
This I declare about the LORD: He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; he is my God, and I trust him.
For he will rescue you from every trap and protect you from deadly disease.
He will cover you with his feathers. He will shelter you with his wings. His faithful promises are your armor and protection.
Do not be afraid of the terrors of the night, nor the arrow that flies in the day.
Do not dread the disease that stalks in darkness, nor the disaster that strikes at midday.
Though a thousand fall at your side, though ten thousand are dying around you, these evils will not touch you.
You will see with your eyes how the wicked are punished.
If you make the LORD your refuge, if you make the Most High your shelter,
no evil will conquer you; no plague will come near your home.
For he will order his angels to protect you wherever you go.
They will hold you up with their hands so you won't even hurt your foot on a stone.
You will trample upon lions and cobras; you will crush fierce lions and serpents under your feet!
The LORD says, "I will rescue those who love me. I will protect those who trust in my name.
When they call on me, I will answer; I will be with them in trouble.
I will rescue and honor them.
I will reward them with a long life and give them my salvation."
