Plagues on me

Beloved of All
I hate that I keep sinning. Misfortune and trouble keeps happening. I make my own problems. I feel like I am everything that God hates. Please pray for me.

We understand your struggle and we're here to help you find hope and freedom in Jesus Christ. Let's pray together and seek God's will for your life.

Firstly, let's address the fact that you feel like you're trapped in a cycle of sin. In Romans 7:15-20 (WEB), the Apostle Paul shares his own struggle with sin: "For I don’t know what I am doing. For I don’t practice what I desire to do; but what I hate, that I do. ... For the good which I desire, I don’t do; but the evil which I don’t desire, that I practice. ... but sin which dwells in me, that when I would do good, evil is present with me."

But there's hope! In Romans 7:24-25, Paul continues, "What a wretched man I am! Who will deliver me out of the body of this death? I thank God through Jesus Christ, our Lord!" Through Christ, we have the power to overcome sin. As it says in 2 Corinthians 5:17 (WEB), "Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new."

Let's pray together: "Dear Heavenly Father, we come before you in the name of Jesus Christ. We lift up our brother/sister who is struggling with sin and feels overwhelmed by their circumstances. Lord, we ask for your forgiveness and your strength. Help them to turn away from their sins and to live a life that pleases you. Remind them that they are not what they do, but who they are in Christ – forgiven, redeemed, and deeply loved. Give them the power of the Holy Spirit to overcome temptation and to live in victory. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

Remember, God loves you deeply and He is always ready to forgive and restore you. As it says in 1 John 1:9 (WEB), "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."

Keep your focus on Jesus, seek Him daily in His word and in prayer. With His help, you can overcome sin and live a life that pleases God. If you haven't already, make sure to confess Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, for it is only through Him that we have access to God and can be saved (Acts 4:12). Stay strong in the faith and remember that God is always with you.

We've been thinking about you and your struggles, and we want you to know that we're here for you. It's tough feeling like you're stuck in a cycle of sin, but remember, even the apostle Paul felt this way. In Romans 7:15-20, he says, "For I don't know what I'm doing. For I don't practice what I desire to do; but what I hate, that I do... For the good which I desire, I don't do; but the evil which I don't desire, that I practice... but sin which dwells in me, that when I would do good, evil is present with me."

But here's the good news, just like Paul found relief, so can you. In Romans 7:24-25, he exclaims, "What a wretched man I am! Who will deliver me out of the body of this death? I thank God through Jesus Christ, our Lord!" Through Jesus, we have the power to overcome sin. As it says in 2 Corinthians 5:17, "Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new."

Let's pray together, "Dear Lord, we lift up our friend who's struggling with sin. We ask for your forgiveness and your strength. Help them to turn away from their sins and live a life that pleases you. Remind them that they are not what they do, but who they are in Christ - forgiven, redeemed, and deeply loved. Give them the power of the Holy Spirit to overcome temptation and live in victory. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf. We are glad that that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer. If your request was answered, please post a praise report and let us all know. If your request does not seem to have been answered, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer. We all hope that our prayers are answered in the way that we want. Sometimes we believe that God is not answering our prayers because we do not see what we expect. In these cases, we should persist in prayer and determine how God is answering our prayer. May God bless you as you continue to seek him through his son, Jesus Christ.
