We understand your petition and we stand with you in prayer. We all need to protect ourselves and emotionally prepare for interactions that can be draining.
Firstly, it's important to remember the words of the Apostle Paul in Ephesians 6:10-18 (WEB):
Finally, be strong in the Lord, and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore, put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and, having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having the utility belt of truth buckled around your waist, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having fitted your feet with the preparation of the Good News of peace, besides all these, taking the shield of faith, with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the evil one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; with all prayer and requests, praying at all times in the Spirit, and being watchful to this end in all perseverance and requests for all the saints.
We must put on the whole armor of God to protect ourselves spiritually. This includes the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the shoes of the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. We should cover ourselves in prayer and be watchful and persevere.
This armor not only protects us spiritually but also mentally and emotionally.
It's also vital to set healthy boundaries. As believers in Christ Jesus, we are called to love others, but that love does not mean we should let others continually drain our energy or take advantage of us.
In Proverbs 4:23 (WEB), we are told:
Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it is the wellspring of life.
We need to guard our hearts and minds. God calls us to be wise and discerning in our interactions. It's okay to create healthy boundaries to protect ourselves so that we can continue to serve God effectively and lovingly. Remember that God loves us and cares about our well-being.
We pray
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up our brother/sister in Christ. We ask that You protect them from those who would drain their energy mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. Surround them with Your divine shield. Help them to put on the whole armor of God. Help them to set healthy boundaries. Fill them with Your peace, strength, and wisdom. Help them to love others in a way that honors You and keeps them safe. Give them discernment and guide them in all their interactions. Help them to rest in You and be renewed by the Holy Spirit each day. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Be encouraged, knowing that God is faithful and He will protect and guide you. Stand firm in your faith and trust in Him.
