Thank you for sharing this prayer request. We join with you in praying for this individual who is dealing with mental illness. We stand on the promise of God's Word, which tells us that He is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18, WEB).
Firstly, let us address the importance of seeking God's help through Jesus Christ. It is only through His name that we have access to God's mercy and grace. As it is written, "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus" (1 Timothy 2:5, WEB). If this person has not already, we pray that they will come to know Jesus Christ as their personal Savior and Lord.
Let us pray together:
"Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, interceding for this precious soul who is battling mental illness. We ask for Your healing touch on their mind and emotions. Comfort them in their distress and grant them the peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7, WEB).
Lord, we also ask that You guide them to seek appropriate medical help. Give them the courage to reach out to professionals who can provide the care they need. We know that You have given wisdom to doctors and therapists, and we trust that You can work through them to bring healing and restoration.
God, we rebuke any stigma or shame associated with mental illness. Remind this person of their worth and value in Your eyes. They are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14, WEB), and their identity is found in You, not in their illness.
Lastly, Lord, surround this person with a supportive community of believers who will encourage them, pray with them, and help bear their burdens (Galatians 6:2, WEB).
We ask all these things in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen."
