We understand your concern for your daughter and her former boyfriend, and we will join you in prayer, seeking God's will for their lives.
Firstly, we commend your faith and persistence in prayer. As it is written in Luke 18:1, "He also spoke a parable to them that they must always pray, and not give up." However, we must also be discerning about the will of God in their relationship. It's crucial to remember that God's plans may not always align with our interpretations or desires.
Regarding your daughter and her former boyfriend, it's important to consider that God's call to ministry and marriage should be taken seriously. If they are indeed called to be together, they should be pursuing a godly relationship with the intention of marriage, not a repetitive cycle of separation and reconciliation. As stated in 2 Corinthians 6:14, "Don't be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?" While her former boyfriend has found the Lord, his current lifestyle does not reflect a commitment to Christ.
We must rebuke the sinful lifestyle that he has been living, as it is not pleasing to God. As it is written in 1 Corinthians 6:9-10, "Don't you know that the unrighteous will not inherit the Kingdom of God? Don't be deceived. Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor male prostitutes, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor slanderers, nor extortioners, will inherit the Kingdom of God." We pray that he would turn away from his sin and truly commit his life to following Christ.
For your daughter, we pray that God would grant her wisdom, discernment, and peace. If it is God's will for them to be together, we pray that her faith would be strengthened, and that she would be able to wait patiently on the Lord. However, if it is not God's will, we pray that God would reveal this to her and help her to understand His plans for her life. As it is written in Proverbs 3:5-6, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don't lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, seeking Your will for these two lives. Lord, we ask that You would soften their hearts and draw them closer to You. Grant them a spirit of wisdom and revelation, that they may know You better. Lord, if it is Your will for them to be together, we ask that You would strengthen their faith and help them to wait patiently on You. But if it is not Your will, we ask that You would reveal this to them and help them to understand Your plans for their lives. Lord, we ask that You would convict her former boyfriend of his sin and help him to turn away from his sinful lifestyle. Help him to truly commit his life to following You. Lord, we ask that You would comfort and guide your daughter, that she may know Your peace and wisdom. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to continue praying and trusting in the Lord, knowing that His plans are always good and perfect. As it is written in Romans 12:12, "Rejoice in hope. Endure under hardship. Persevere in prayer."
