Minh and Lanh, young parents of two children, were kicked out of their home and disowned by their families because they refused to deny Christ. But what was intended for evil has been used by God for good (Gen. 50.20). As a result of Minh and Lanh's trials, a dozen more villagers have come to faith!
In the village of Vietnam where Minh and Lanh are from, being disowned means they no longer have a family and have lost all support from their relatives. The couple is accused of abandoning the family, their ancestors and their culture.
Local officials heard their story and summoned the couple. They were interrogated for a day and threatened with expulsion from the village and the confiscation of their cattle if they persisted in their belief in Christ.
The couple is holding fast to their faith,. With the help of their church and other believers, they were able to build a new home in the village.
Minh and Lanh boldly said they will continue with their faith and keep going to church. It was then that `12 other people in the village committed their lives to Christ because of the testimony of this small family.
"This is a real miracle and a great testimony - people seeing the real conviction of the gospel through the lives of this couple and seeing the need to follow Jesus," said their pastor. "The church is encouraged to see how God is working."
Village leaders have been instructed to stop forcing the couple to deny their faith, as it could create negative public opinion of the government, but family oppression continues.
Please stand with Minh and Lanh through prayer.
Pray for God's protection of this couple and the other new believers in the village. Pray that if persecution continues and grows, their faith will be strengthened in kind
Ask that God will provide for Minh's and Lanh's needs, and specifically for some appliances for their new house.
Pray that God raises up the believers in the village to form a new fellowship. Currently, they have to travel nearly five miles to attend church in another village. Pray He brings a pastor to disciple them.
Thanks so much for praying for our persecuted brethren like the Bible commands us to in Hebrews 13.3. May Adonai reward you for your faithfulness now and in the life to come. Prayer from Open Doors USA text alert.
