The raid came at 5am, when the house church pastor and his family were asleep. Authorities tore his home apart looking for materials of a religious nature contrary to Islam. Then they moved on to the homes of other house church believers.
A few days later, the search moved to a high school. Police officers and people in plain clothes went into the classrooms and confiscated students' phones, searching for religious content. The officers' action enraged students' parents who were furious at the invasion of privacy.
In Uzbekistan, police actively seek to find and control any religious materials that don't support Islam. This increasingly aggressive pursuit of Christians - and the Bibles, books, and Internet content that sustain them - make it more unsafe for believers by the day.
Please pray with believers in Uzbekistan as they endure intensifying surveillance of their homes, phones and gatherings.
Pray please for protection for house churches of converted believers. Ask God to hide their gatherings from the eyes of officials.
Ask for special healing for students who were traumatized by the police raid on their classrooms.
Pray for wisdom for pastors and other leaders as they guide believers in their response to aggressive actions like these.
Thanks so much for praying for our brethren who are persecuted as the Bible commands us to in Hebrews 13.3 and other verses. May Elohim reward you for your faithfulness in this life and the life to come. Taken from Open Doors USA text alert.
