We are nervously watching the world stage while Ukraine and Russia are embroiled in war - but the crisis in Afghanistan is still ongoing and our urgent prayers are needed. Afghanistan remains at the very top of the World Watch List's most dangerous countries for Christians, so we must remain vigilant in prayer for our Afghan brothers and sisters.
It's still not safe for Christians, but there is relative peace, shares Open Doors frontline partner Hana Nasri. "The economy is debt-ridden and completely depentant on foreign aid. Thousands have lost their jobs in the political upheavel."
Join your brothers and sisters in Afghanistan as they cry out to God for assurance, strength and encouragement in a country that is economically and spiritually devastated.
"There's a hug humanitarian problem," said Hana. "Large numbers of families are living together in hiding - when the electricity goes, when something is broken, families in hiding can't ask anyone to help with the repairs.
The weather is also changing rapidly. We didn't have spring, it just went straight into summer. In this heat, there will be more cholera and dysentery. There's a lot of disease and not just COVID-related. Things are expected to get worse when the heat escalates."
God is Master of the heavens and the earth. Pray He will bring relief to those in hiding with rain and cooler tempreatures, and guard them from illness. Pray that God would miraculously provide for the needs of Christian families in hiding.
"We've been told a lot about women being stopped, abducted, not just believers. The door-to-door searches continue. Any other kind of religion in the country won't be tolerated."
Lift up Christians, women and ethnic minorites in Afghanistan - that they can live freektm without restriction. Ask God to open the eyes of those in leadership to see a revelation of Christ and that they will lead the nation with righteousness, not fear.
Thanks so much for praying, Elohim bless you. Taken from Open Doors USA text alert.
