We've been praying with believers Adam and Hope in Saudi Arabia through Adam's trial and sentencing. He was arrested after being accused of sharing the gospel, and fined $80,000. He is appealing the verdict, and we've been praying with Adam and his family as they wait to see how the appeal is handled.
Today, we have an update on their situation from Hope. We'll let her tell you in her own words:
"Adam has been so worried about me and our son, Andrews, should we be left without his protection. He has accepted the counsel of friends that we should leave Saudi Arabia, rather than have to depend on my hostile family. It was a difficult decision, and means Adam losing a companion in suffering, leaving him alone to lean on the Lord.
I can report that Andrew and I are now safe in a country where we are well taken care of. Our older son, who left earlier, is in another country too. Yes our seperation is the most difficult experience that any human being goes through. I left the country in which I was born, and I do not know what awaits me and my children, but I trust God to intervene in the most difficult moments to the last.
Ephesians 6.10 - 13 says 'Finally, be strong in the Lord and His mighty power. Put on the full armour of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore, put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand/'
"I have faith in the Lord Jesus to help us. God hath commanded us to put our trust in Him. He says in Psalm 46 God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore, we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea.
Thank you for standing with us, and for all the encouraging messages and prayers you have sent! We have received over 2,000 of them. How beautiful they are! You are a light that shines in our path, comforts our souls and strengthens us. It is a great honor to be part of the family of Christ.
Accept my best regards, your sister Hope and her children."
Please continue to pray with Adam and Hope, as their situation is still extremely difficult.
PRay for Adam as he waits for the result of his appeal against the fine of about $80,000. It is still unknown when the judge will decide the case. PRay for a positive decision.
Pray Hope, Adam and Andrew will continue to put their trust in the Lord, and that God will fill their hearts with peace. Pray for comfort for them in this difficult period of separation.
Pray the testimony of this faithful family will have an impact on their extended family, showing them what Christ means and drawing them to faith in Him.
Pray for protection and encouragement for all the believers in Saudi Arabia, who are under constant threat.
Thanks so much for praying for our persecuted family. God bless.
