Deep in the countryside of China, a secret Bible study meets.
The members are trafficked North Korean women, sold to Chinese men as wifes.
Women like Gui-Pum.
When she first came to the group, she was nervous and shy. But the fellowship of her sisters helped her open her heart - and her laugh became a more common sound.
She had to travel some distance to the Bible study, and her Chinese "husband" hated it when she went. She made the trip a few times a month anyway, because she needed the support of her sisters in Christ. There she prayed regularly for her husband and family to come to Christ.
But recently we received devasting news. Gui-Pum's home was invaded, and she was killed by the attacker.
Her death didn't mean Jesus was defeated among this group of North Korean believers. Her sisters in the Bible study grieve - but they continue to meet, in secret, and share together what meant so much to Gui-Pum: the gospel of Christ.
They are not the only secret group. Through your heartfelt prayers, you join hands with these sisters in Christ, and the thousands around the world like them they represent.
Pray for the family of Gui-Pum, that their hearts will be comforted and that they will come to know Jesus.
Pray for the members of the trafficked North Korean women's Bible study, that they would be encouraged and strengthened by the Word of God and the love and peace of the Lord.
Lift up Open Doors' North Korean ministry in China and its project of trafficked women's Bible study meetings. Ask God to be present with the field workers, co-workers and members of the study with His protection and strength.
Thanks for praying God bless. Prayer from Open Doors USA text alert.
