Deep in the night, a secret believer in North Korea is growing in her faith. Holding a tiny radio to her ear, she listens intently to the static-y voices providing Bible teaching, sermons, praise songs and other programming that originates from South Korea. It is all she has to substain her, and it's as vital to her as food and warm clothing.
This isn't a "true" story, but it's a real story. Radio broadcasts supported by Open Doors are a key part of strengthening the faith of the North Korean church. The government tries to block the broadcasts, and from time to time the frequency must be changed, but North Koreans seek out the wavelengths that bring them encouragement that they are not alone and not forgotten.
Recently, Open Doors received this message of gratitude."Thank you for the radio programmes. The sound quality is mostly clear with some noise that is tolerable. The contents of the programs are very helpful in training leaders and believers and in understanding the Bible. Some learned what it was like to live by faith, some experienced and learned more of God's love, and some become convinced of salvation. We really love the programs. We get strengthened and encouraged in our spiritual life."
Please continue to pray for the secret believers who listen to the radioprogramms at night.
Pray for their protection, and that they can listen without discovery.
Pray that the encouraging messages will continue to remind the isolated North Korean Christians that they are loved, remembered and supported by their global Christian family.
Pray for the radio ministry team, that God will pour His Wisdom, power and health over them as they reflect the concern of God's family worldwide.
Thanks so much for praying, Elohim bless you. Taken from Open Doors USA text alert
