Tun Tun an Open Doors partner, is one of the many Chin Christians displaced by the civil war in Myanmar. He is frustrated, traumatized and longing for your prayers after recent attacks in Sagaing Division.
The devastation began when Junta forces raided a local Catholic church used to house refugees. The armed men overtook the Catholic church building, using it to fire bombs at Thadou-Kuki Baptist Church, severely damaging it. Then they looted the Baptist Church, even looting the church's misionary boxes, offerings and tithes. This event stirred fear among our brothers and sisters in the area and many fled to neighboring villages.
Tun Tun told us, "When will this war end? We live as refugees in a foreign land, resources are scarce, and we never wanted to move, but for our safety and for our family, we must run. The living conditions are not easy, some risk their lives to find employment and at least get some food."
Tun Tun also described an attack by junta forces on June 23, in which four houses in Janglenphai village, Sagaing Division, were burned. "They arrested four innocent young men, tied their hands behind their back, harassed them, beat them, and shot three of them in the head. They left the bodies on the school campus. Including these three, a total of eleven from Kuki Chin Christians tribe were killed."
"Please pray for the safety of the believers in the Sagaing REgion and Chin State. There are many pagodas and shrines but not one single bullet hit those Buddhist buildings whereas the Christians' buildings and churches were destroyed. However, they ravage the Kuki Chin Christian villages. They kill us like animals. Please pray with us that God will intervene, and the war will end. Please pray we can all go back home."
Friends, let's join Tun Tun in intercession today.
Father, hear our hearts cry! Strengthen the hearts of Your children in Myanmar in the face of unrelenting pressure, violence, destruction and displacement. Grow their faith in You and their trust that You will bring this situation to a close so they can go home again. Provide for essential daily needs of food and shelter. Protect believers in SagaingRegion and Chin State who have lost everything, even their loved ones.
Thanks so much for praying, in Jesus Name may He bless you. Taken from Open Doors USA text alert.
