Will you please pray with us today for an Iranian believer who is being summoned to court for a second time after already serving one year prison sentence? Rokhsareh (Mahrokh) Ghanbari served four months of a one year prison sentence before Iran released many prisoners in March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Now the 64 year old has been told she must appear in court again a second time by January 19 for the same charge of 'propaganda against the regime.'
While the basis for the fresh charge against Mahrokh is as yet unknown, a family friend of Mahrokh's told Article 18 that Mahrokh is concerned she might be spending more time in prison - especially because of the fragile health of her husband, Fathalli, who is 71 years old.
The friend added that Mahrokh is still recovering from the trauma of her imprisonment, numerous interrogations and other mistreatment by Iranian intelligence agents "for the crime of believing in Jesus Christ," says Mahrokh.
Following her imprisonment, Mahrokh was forced to attend 're-education' classes with an Islamic cleric for several weeks and made to read Islamic books, then tested on them. She was also told that she must have no future contact with any Christians.
Please pray with our sister Mahrokh today. Pray for her as she awaits this January 19 court date. ASk God to give her His peace and strength.
Pray that the court will acquit her or miraculolusly drop her case.
Pray for the health of Mahrokh's husband FAthalli. Pray for healing and that he can offer emotional support to his wife.
Pray that Mahrokh would rely on God's Word to sustain her and that she would feel the prayers of the Body of Christ surrounding her.
Pray for all believers in Iran who live with the threat of prison and isolation from other believers.
Thanks so much for praying, Elohim bless you. Taken from Open Doors USA text alert
