Persecuted Christians - important update on Brother Jashim from Bangladesh who was beaten by a mob twice and attempted suicide please pray

Wylandadh

Beloved Servant
Friends, a few weeks ago we told you the story of Jashim, a new brother in Bangladesh who was physically attacked twice by a large mob for not renouncing his faith in Christ. He was hospitalized and severely traumatized by the events, and his wife and children went into hiding.

Jashim sent his family to a safe place after the first attack and stayed behind, hoping those who sought to hurt him would not pursue them. The mob returned, however, and attacked Jashim again, sending him to the hospital with serious injuries. Upon hearing the news of his hospitalization, his family returned and brought him home on his release.

Unfortunately, Jashim made his situation more dangerous because he was so determined not to give up on Jesus. He said, "If I took my life, I wouldn't have to renounce my faith in Jesus." Being a new believer, he did not know that God does not condone suicide, and so he tried to take his own life. Praise God that medical professionals were able to revive him!

The impact of his physical injury and then the suicide attempt has caused his recovery to be extended. Doctors said he will recover, but it will take more time. During this period he and his family are being discipled and they are growing spiritually from the Word of God. Brother Jashim regrets what he tried to do to himself, and the love and support he has received from his family, other believers, the church and local partners has made him happy and hopeful again.

Local Open Doors partners are supporting his family with a month of food and praying for his recovery. Please add your prayer support to theirs.

Father God, lift the heart of our brother Jashim, and flood him with understanding of Your Word. Heal his body, his spirit and his mind. Help his wife Aklima as she serves and cares for him. Help their children overcome the trauma of the incident. Surround the family with believers who extend their love and prayers.

Thanks so much for praying for this beloved saint and his family. Praise Yah that He saved Him from suicide and rewarded him for his great faith and is miraculously healing him from trauma. Taken from Open Doors USA text alert.

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf. We are glad that that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer. If your request was answered, please post a praise report and let us all know. If your request does not seem to have been answered, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer. We all hope that our prayers are answered in the way that we want. Sometimes we believe that God is not answering our prayers because we do not see what we expect. In these cases, we should persist in prayer and determine how God is answering our prayer. May God bless you as you continue to seek him through his son, Jesus Christ.
