here are places around the world where an accusation against a Christian is enough to lead to severe persecution. And places where even an act of Christ-like kindness can be twisted into something that leads to jail time. That's what recently happened to one of our brothers in Egypt - all because his actions were as loving as the Jesus he serves.
A 20 year old Muslim woman fled her home when her parents forced her to marry against her will. She hid at a friend.s house for a week, but needed a more permanent solution.
She went to her employer, Nazih Hanna Allah, a Christian pharmacist, for help. He rented her an apartment and gave her a cell phone to support her in this crisis.
Ten days later, the girl's father found out that Nazih had helped his daughter hide from him. He attacked the pharmacy and called the police. He accused the pharmacist and 3 of his Christian colleagues of kidnapping his daughter to persuade her to convert to Christianity. Nazir was able to escape, but Hany Louise, Shenouda Wadih and Hany Wardany were all arrested and charged.
The young woman returned to her father's house, and said that only Nazih helped her, and that he treated her politely and with respect. No one tried to force her to convert to Christianity, but so far no-one believes her.
This situation is still evolving, and your prayers are needed immediately.
Please pray for Nazih, that he will not be captured and falsely charged with kidnapping a Muslim woman. Such charges carry dangerous penalties.
Pray for the other 3 men, that they will be released. they had nothing to do with hiding the woman.
Pray for the young muslim woman, that she will be deeply affected by the concern shown her by Nazih, and that it would change her life.
Pray for the young woman.s safety. Physical abuse as discipline is common in situations like this.
Thank you so much for prayers. From an Open Doors USA text alert.
