We've had a request from Columbia for the ongoing unrest in the country - unrest that seems to target Christians.
There were massive strikes and protests in Columbia from April through June 15, some of which turned violent. But even though most demonstrators had agreed to stop the incidents, some protestors have continued to riot, vandalize property and commit other acts of violence. From the beginning, attacks against churches have been part of the activities of some protestors.
On June 23, a church in Neiva, Columbia was set on fire. It was a day of clashes between protestors and police, and Molotov cocktails were thrown at a church, setting it ablaze. The people who threw the Molotov cocktail used the surrounding unrest to commit the attempted arson.
Thanks to the timely action of firefighters, the fire was effectively controlled, but there was still damage to the structure of the building.
It is possible that those opposed to Christianity may use the distraction of riots and social unrest to attack churches.
Please pray with the church in Columbia
Pray God will help the believers in Neiva repair their church building
Thank God that none were hurt during the violent attack
pray for God's protection and care over all the churches in Columbia. Pray the believers there are seen as the answer to what the church is going through
Thanks so much for praying. From a text alert from Open Doors USA .
