Chinese Christians face an uphill battle to worship and live freely. But we can freely pray with them!
Churches must be registered and authorized - and registered churches are heavily monitored. Christians seeking more freedom gather in house churches and other unregistered gatherings. they are subject to arrest, jail and sometimes harsher punishments.
Because of this, many of them turn to the internet for spiritual food and encouragement. Through apps like WeChat, the largest standalone social media app in the world, they can send messages to each other, download and transfer audio and video files, and join together in worship. WeChat has daily devotions, worship music, sermons and chat rooms where Christianity is discussed.
In an attempt to stifle the growth of the Chinese church, Chinese authorities are are moving to block or close Christian WeChat accounts that have high traffic. For isolated believers who depend on WeChat to find Christian community, losing this outlet could be devastating.
Please pray with the Christians who are hungry to feed their faith in China.
Pray that obstacles like this will stimulate an even greater hunger for God's Word, and that other ways of accessing Scripture will be found.
Pray Chinese believers experience the power of the Holy Spirit as He teaches them and reminds them of everything Jesus taught (John 14.25)
Ask God to foil the attempts of the government to block access to encouraging Chjrsitian materials , and that the church in China continues to grow and multipy.
Thanks so much for praying, God bless. From a text alert from Open Doors USA.
