Friends, it's time to pray for two teenage girls in Central Asia: Anita and Sonya. They are risking their lives to follow Jesus and they need our support today.
Anita - not her real name - is 17. She made the decision to follow Christ, and now she's paying the price. Her Muslim relatives have locked her in the house and won't permit her to leave without her elder brother to escort her.
Her uncle, aunt and mother took her laptop and phone to prevent her from communicating with others. She managed to get a message to her pastor's family about her situation and has asked them for prayer. She's not allowed to meet or speak with other Christians, and she feels lost and vulnerable without the fellowship of believers.
Lord God, Anita needs Your presence to be very real and very large with her right now. Though she is closed off from other people, she is not closed off from Your Spirit. Light a fire of encouragement in her heart, and fill her with unspeakable joy that confounds those who are trying to contain her.
Sonya - not her real name - is just 16. She often secretly visited a home church in her village. She knew she had to hide her new faith from her schoolmates and villagers, as the attitude toward converted Christians is very bad.
Recently, her classmates learned she became a Christian. Now she is in danger. Her classmates treat her rudely and threaten to kill her for "accepting a foreign god". Sonya is frightened to go to school or even leave her home because of the threats.
Father, surround Sonya with a thick wall of protection from those who would harm her. Fill hear heart with boldness, tempered with wisdom, so that she can live and move in her community without terror. Light her path with Your Word, and help her to grow into a strong and confident woman of God.
Thanks so much for praying, Elohim bless you all. Taken from Open Doors USA text alert
