Friends, believers in Central Asia are asking us to join them in prayer for Aldi, a 20 year old who just accepted Jesus in January. We can't tell you specifically where Aldi is from because of the security risk for Christians there.
As a new Christian, Aldi attended a local house church. His house church was concerned about him because he was in the military. His unit was very active, and it was not a good environment for a believer. Because of his service, he was unable to attend church.
In this country, it is possible to pay for dismissal from military service. The house church decided to pay for Aldi's dismissal. Two weeks ago, as he was being dismissed from service, some soldiers found out he had become a Christian and beat him badly, injuring his ear and taking all of his money. Aldi was also disowned by his family. Naturally, he is emotionally distraught about the amount of suffering he's endured in such a short time.
Aldi's house church decided to help him. With support from Open Doors, the church will provide him with housing, food and some money for day to day expenses. They will also help him investigate if he can go to trade school. Aldi now wishes to serve in the church.
Thank God for His mercy in calling Aldi to Himself, and that the house church is commited to taking care of him.
Pray Aldi is healed, in mind, body and spirit from all he has experienced and that he feels at home in his church community.
Pray Aldi has wisdom and provision as he seeks God's plans for his life.
