Young women in muslim nations are extremely vulnerable to rape, exploitation and abuse, but young Christian women are even more so. We at Open Doors see this kind of violence too often and know we must continue to wrap our arms around them with our prayers and support.
One of our young sisters in Central Asia, Maria, desperately needs our prayers. Leaving church one night, Maria got into a taxi to head home. Recognizing his young passanger was a Christian, the taxi driver, a Muslim man, immediately locked the doors and drove Maria outside the city to the forest.
Let's stand in prayer for the safety and protection of vulnerable young Christian women and girls in nations where they are often doubly exploited and abused for both their gender and their faith.
The man easily overpowered the young girl and brutally raped her. Afterwards he beat her and intended to strangle her.
But Maria managed to speak to her attacker and asked him to leave her alive in the name of the Lord. Miraculously, he stopped and did not kill her. We believe that Jesus stopped the hands of this attempted murder. Praise God that Maria lived to tell this awful story, though it will undoubtedly impact the rest of her life.
Please pray for Maria to find peace in Jesus each time she leaves church and seeks a safe way home. Pray that Jesus Name will continue to ring in the attacker's mind and heart until he repents of this terrible act and comes to Christ to be saved.
Maria is now in the hospital, facing long and complicated physical treatment and needing serious psychological help and spiritual healing. We are so thankful she is receiving help from a Christian counseling psychologist from her local church but she still needs your prayer support.
Pray for Maria's complete healing - physical, emotional and spiritual. Ask God to keep her and her family very close to His heart and rebuild their trust in Him.
Thanks so much for praying, Elohim bless you. Taken from Open Doors USA text alert.
