It is a beautiful thing when persecuted Christians can reach out to bless persecuted believers elsewhere. Pastor Hudson, a church leader from Central China, is such a believer.
Open Doors partners have worked with Hudson for 10 years, gradually opening his eyes to the plight of persecuted Christians in other countries. "Hudson responded in a way we haven't seen before," says Frederick, an Open Doors partner. "He didnt just embrace a vision for cross-cultural mission - he was moved by a genuine desire to serve persecuted believers in neighbouring countries."
Pastor Hudson heard about two struggling families in another Asian country where persecution is on the rise. Two pastors from that country died recently from COVID-19 complications, leaving their families and churches to fend for themselves. Hudson shared the need with his church, eventually raising enough money to support the two families for two years! He contacted our local Open Doors worker and transferred the funds immediately.
Then he discovered that believers in another Asian country were in danger, and is desperate need of food and clothing, so he contacted us once more to transfer more funds raised by his churh to be used for the persecuted church in that country.
For Hudson and his church, the question of "Who is my neighbour?" was settled - it didn't matter that they live in China, another country where Christians are pressured. God's church is bigger than that. So, they continue to pray for the persecuted church, and are looking for opportunies to serve, one persecuted church to another.
Please pray with Pastor Hudson for the requests he shared with us -
Ask God to stir Chinese churches with a passion to serve persecuted believers in other countries.
Pray that young chinese believers grasp the power and blessings of generosity, and learn to listen to the Holy Spirit's prompting to support other believers.
Pray that other persecuted churches learn from Pastor Hudson's example and become supporters of their fellow persecuted churches.
Thanks so much for praying, God bless. Taken from an Open Doors USA text alert
