Here are a few facts about Samjhana. She is a widow. She has a daughter who requires special medical treatment. She is a Christian. She is an outcast.
Samjhana's family in Nepal has no tolerance for her turn from traditional beliefs to Jesus, but it has not deterred her.
though her family shunned her, she knew her Lord would provide.
"It was a very tough time. I felt as though i was walking on the edge, " said Samjhana. "I was tired of bearing all the burdens alone. nO WORK, NO SUPPORT, NO LOVE, NO FUTURE. i SAW Darkness all around me. But God kept me strong through those storms. His words stood as an encouragement in my difficult situation, and His promises comforted me and assured me that He is with me and will not abandon me and will lift me up from all my troubles. He is the only one I put my trust and dependence on."
Open Doors heard Samjhana's struggles and extended help. Thanks to gifts and prayers from people like you, they provided her wtih grocery relief, as well as a carpet-weaving machine to give her a source of income.
"I am thankful to God and Open Doors partners who helped me. I used to worry for my daughter, as I was not able to fulfil her needs. I was also not able to go to work without leaving my daughter alone at home. Without work, it was difficult for me. But your support and help with the weaving machine means I can work from home and take care of my daughter. I am extremely glad to have the privilige to continue my skills."
