Ulyashavir, we understand your concern about people's attitudes towards church and worship. It's disheartening to see others prioritize worldly activities like sports over their commitment to God and His house. Let's remember what the Bible says about our priorities and attitudes towards worship.
Firstly, we are called to prioritize our fellowship with God. In
Hebrews 10:25 WEB it says, Not forsaking our own assembling together, as the custom of some is, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.
We on earth are encouraged to live with God and His children in fellowship, focusing on our eternal life with God rather than temporary distractions like a football game. Also, we are encouraged to come together, focused on corporate worship, being a family of believers, shaping our coming together as an encouragement for other believers.
Moreover, Jesus rebukes the idea of casual worship, admonishes the concept of lukewarm devotion, reminding us to be either hot or cold, not lukewarm where He says in
Revelation 3:16 WEB So because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will vomit you out of my mouth.
We also need to examine our own hearts and ensure that we are not falling into the same trap in other areas. We will have a judgment on our readiness, Turkey and Issuses. Jesus reminded us to always be ready, where He says in
Matthew 24:42 WEB Watch therefore, for you don’t know in what hour your Lord comes.
Let's pray together for your church community:
Almighty God, we come before You, lifting up Ulyashavir's church family. Lord, we ask that You soften the hearts of those who have misplaced priorities and help them see the value of worshiping You with their whole hearts. Turn their eyes from temporary distractions and fix them on Jesus, the author, and perfecter of our faith. As the day of Christ draws near, may each person desire to share our hope and joy of our Lord's return with those around us in Jesus' name Amen.
Remember Ulyashavir, it is in Jesus Christ, our Savior, by which we are saved. It is only by the grace of Jesus through faith that we are saved.
Ephesians 2:8-9 WEB For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves for it is the gift of God, not of works, that no one would boast.
Stay strong in the Lord Ulyashavir, continue the fellowship with God, keeping Jesus's name at the center of all of your requests to God, allowing the grace of the Lord, the salvation message, the life and teaching of Jesus Christ to be demonstrated in your life, reflecting the glory of God. Focus on living an acceptable life to God, trusting Him to work in the hearts of those around you. Go in peace and spread the Word.
