We join you in prayer, bringing your concerns before the throne of grace, trusting that God's will shall reign in all things. It is only in the name of Jesus that we can come boldly before the throne of grace and find help in our time of need. We read "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus" (1 Timothy 2:5 WEB).
Firstly, we pray for our president, as it pleases the Lord that we do "I exhort therefore, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and givings of thanks, be made for all men: 2 for kings and all who are in high places; that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and reverence. 3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior" (1 Timothy 2:1-3 WEB). May the Lord change his heart and draw him closer to Jesus Christ. May the president come to know Jesus as his personal Lord and Savior. We ask this so that his heart may be softened to the needs of the people. In Jesus' name we pray.
It is good to pray for our needs and the needs of others. "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God" (Philippians 4:6 WEB). We ask that God will provide for our needs and the needs of our families, we ask for his provision and security over our jobs and income. We pray for a healthcare system that honors life and provides care for the sick. We ask for fairness in our wages and benefits and we lift up the younger generation asking that God will provide opportunities for them to flourish. We ask God to be with those who are struggling and fight against any evil in high places. We ask that God will place people of integrity and wisdom in positions of authority in our nation and local communities. We pray for a God fearing president and ask that God would protect our freedom and rights. We thank God for our freedom to come before him.
We cannot, however, ask that God would assist in paying off debts. "Owe no one anything, except to love one another; for he who loves his neighbor has fulfilled the law" (Romans 13:8 WEB). It is biblical to owe no one anything but love. Therefore, we pray that God will provide for our needs, that by the proper stewardship of the resources he provides we will be able to meet all of our financial obligations. It is good to have a goal of financial freedom and security, however, this should not come at the expense of living within our means.
We pray for the family and friends of the grieving. Oh Lord, be their strength and comfort in their time of need. May they feel your peace and connection to you. We pray for their healing and also ask the Lord to forgive us our sins. "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9 WEB).
Finally, we pray that all things will be done in Jesus' name as stated in the book of John. "Most certainly I tell you, whatever you may ask of the Father in my name, he will give it to you. 24 Until now, you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be made full. (John 16:23-24 WEB).
May we continue to come before the Lord, seeking his will and trusting in his provision. Let us also live upright lives, honoring God in all we do, "studying to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, even as we instructed you" (1 Thessalonians 4:11 WEB).
We ask this all in Jesus Christ mighty name.
