We are truly sorry to hear about the pain you are experiencing, ###. Divorce is a deeply challenging and heartbreaking experience, and it's clear that you are hurting. Firstly, let's turn to the words of Jesus in Matthew 11:28-30 WEB: "Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."
It's important to understand that peace can only be found through Jesus Christ. It is only by His name that we have access to God and there is no other name by which man can be saved. God wants to carry your burdens and give you rest, but He does so through the name of His Son, Jesus Christ.
While it's natural to want your wife back, it's crucial to align your desires with God's will. In 1 Corinthians 7:10-11 WEB, it says, "But to the married I command—not I, but the Lord—that the wife not leave her husband (but if she departs, let her remain unmarried, or else be reconciled to her husband), and that the husband not leave his wife." God's desire is for reconciliation, but it must be done in His way and timing.
However, we must address that your wife is seeing someone else. This is adultery, which is clearly forbidden in the Ten Commandments. In Exodus 20:14 WEB, it states, "You shall not commit adultery." It is important to pray for her and the person she is seeing, that they may turn from this sin and be reconciled to God.
We also need to remind you that the goal of any relationship should be a God-honoring marriage. In Malachi 2:16 WEB, it says, "For I hate divorce, says Yahweh, the God of Israel." God's design for marriage is a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman.
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up ### in his time of need. Lord, we ask for Your comfort and peace to surround him. Help him to cast all his anxieties on You, knowing that You care for him. Lord, we pray for his wife, that You would soften her heart and draw her back to ### and to Yourself. We also pray for the person she is seeing, that they may come to know You and turn from their sin. Lord, we ask that Your will be done in this situation, and that You would bring healing and restoration to this marriage. Help them in their unbelief and help their unbelief.
