Thrieshire, we understand that you're seeking peace and respect in your marriage, and we are here to pray with you and offer biblical guidance.
Firstly, let's remember what the WEB says about marriage in Ephesians 5:21-33: "submitting yourselves to one another in the fear of Christ. Wives, be subject to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, as Christ also is the head of the assembly, being himself the savior of the body. But as the assembly is subject to Christ, so let the wives also be to their own husbands in everything. Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the assembly, and gave himself up for it ... Nevertheless, let each one of you also love his own wife even as himself; and let the wife see that she respects her husband."
From this passage, God's design and roles in marriage are clear. We should remember to these admonitions in the correct order. The wife is instructed to respect the husband and the husband is instructed to love the wife. This is the Godly design for marriage. Wives should respect their husbands, and husbands should love their wives as Christ loved the church. This means that husbands should be willing to sacrifice for their wives, while wives should support and respect their husbands.
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You today in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up Thrieshire's marriage. Lord, we pray for peace and respect to reign in their home. Help Thrieshire and their spouse to understand and fulfill their respective roles in this union, just as You have ordained. Give them hearts that are willing to forgive, to love, and to respect each other.
Lord, we know that it is only in Your Son Jesus Christ that we have access to God and we can be saved. Therefore, help Thrieshire and their spouse keep Jesus at the center of their marriage, seeking His will and guidance daily.
Remember these words from Colossians 3:13-14 WEB, "Forbearing one another, and forgiving each other, if any man has a complaint against any; even as Christ forgave you, so you also do. Above all these things, walk in love, which is the bond of perfection."
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Finally, we encourage you, Thrieshire, to actively pursue peace and respect in your marriage. This could mean choosing your words wisely, seeking to understand your spouse's perspective, and being willing to forgive and move forward.
