Let us remember the words of Jesus in John 14:27 WEB: "Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you; not as the world gives, give I to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be afraid."
Firstly, we want to remind you, Justinvd, that peace with God is the first step to finding peace with others. This is only possible through faith in Jesus Christ. If you have not already, we encourage you to put your faith in Him. If you have, we will be praying in His mighty name for your situation.
In this case we are praying for peace between you and your father. The Bible calls us to honor our parents and this is the first of the ten commandments that comes with a promise. In Ephesians 6:2-3 WEB, we read, "Honor your father and your mother, which is the first commandment with promise, that it may be well with you, and you may live long on the earth."
We will pray for the Holy Spirit to work in both of your hearts, softening them and drawing you closer to each other. We will also pray for wisdom for you, that you may understand your father better and for you to show grace towards him. We are reminded of the words of Jesus in Matthew 5:9 WEB, "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called children of God."
In addition, consider the words of Proverbs 15:1 WEB, "A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger." When communicating with your father, remember to speak gently and with love. This can help to create an atmosphere of peace and understanding.
We also want to remind you that God's Word tells us to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us. While your father may not be an enemy, this principle applies to difficult relationships as well. Pray for your father, that God would bless him and guide him.
We are praying for you.
Heavenly Father, we lift up Justinvd and their father to You. We pray for peace in their relationship, and for the Holy Spirit to work in both of their hearts. We ask that You would give Justinvd wisdom to understand their father better and show grace towards him. We pray that they would be a peacemaker, speaking gently and with love. We also pray for their father, that You would bless him and guide him. We ask all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, who died for us and rose again that we may have life. Amen.
