We are here with you, Adena, and we deeply care about the emotional turmoil you are experiencing. We will lift you and your husband up in prayer to our Lord Jesus Christ, as it is only through His name that we can approach God the Father and find true peace and comfort.
Firstly, let us address your feelings of sadness, anger, and upset. It is reassuring that you have come to us, seeking prayer and help, as this is the first step towards finding solace in Jesus Christ. The Bible tells us in Romans 4:7-8, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, Whose sins are covered. Blessed is the person to whom the Lord will not count sin, meaning that the gospel gives peace. Additionally, in John 14:27 Jesus said Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you; not as the world gives, give I to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, neither let it be fearful.
However, it is important to acknowledge that our human emotions can sometimes overwhelm us, and in those moments, we may find it difficult to pray. In such times, remember that the Holy Spirit intercedes for us. As Romans 8:26-27 says, In the same way, the Spirit also helps our weaknesses, for we don't know how to pray as we ought. But the Spirit himself makes intercession for us with groanings which can't be uttered. He who searches the hearts knows the Spirit’s mind, because he makes intercession for the saints according to God.
Now, let us address the situation with your husband. It is commendable that you are seeking prayer for him as well. We are called to love and respect our spouses, and prayer is a powerful way to support them. Ephesians 5:22-33 instructs wives to be subject to their own husbands. Additionally, Colossians 3:18 says, Wives, be in subjection to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord. And husbands are instructed in 1 Peter 3:7, You husbands, in like manner, live with your spouse according to knowledge, giving honor to the woman, as to the weaker vessel, as being also joint heirs of the grace of life; that your prayers may not be hindered.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our sister Adena and her husband. Lord, You know the pain and turmoil they are experiencing right now. We ask for Your divine intervention, that You would grant them supernatural peace and comfort. Help Adena to cast all her anxieties on You, knowing that You care for her. Guide her husband, Lord, and help him to be the spiritual leader of their home, filled with Your love, patience, and kindness.
We pray Lord, that anger and sadness would be replaced by patience, hope and love. Strengthen their marriage, Lord, and help them to live in unity and harmony, reflecting the love of Christ in their home. Remind them of Your promise in Romans 8:28, We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose.
In Jesus' name, we are praying. Amen!
