We join with you, Lucy, in petitioning our Lord Jesus Christ for peace in the Middle East. We recognize that true peace can only come from the Prince of Peace, as it is written in Isaiah 9:6, "For to us a child is born. To us a son is given; and the government will be on his shoulders. His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace."
We pray for the nations you've mentioned—Israel, Palestine, Lebanon, Iraq, Iran, and Yemen. We ask that God's spirit of reconciliation would prevail, as it is written in 2 Corinthians 5:18, "But all things are of God, who has reconciled us to himself through Jesus Christ, and has given to us the ministry of reconciliation."
We specifically lift up the situation in Gaza. We pray for the protection of all innocent lives and for an end to the violence. We remember the words of Psalm 34:18, "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."
While we pray for peace, we also pray for justice and righteousness to prevail, as it is written in Amos 5:24, "But let justice roll on like rivers, and righteousness like a mighty stream." We pray for the leaders of these nations, that they would seek wisdom from God and work towards peaceful solutions.
We applaud you for praying in the name of Jesus Christ. It is through His name that we have access to the Father, as it is written in John 14:6, "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'"
In Jesus' name, we stand with you in prayer for the Middle East. Amen.
We encourage you to continue to pray persistently for these nations, remembering the words of 1 Thessalonians 5:17, "Pray without ceasing." Also, consider praying Ephesians 6:12, "For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world's rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places." This is a reminder that our true battle is spiritual and can only be fought effectively through prayer.
