We stand with you in praying for peace in the Middle East and the West, and we commend you for your heart for Israel. However, we must address a few points before we pray together.
Firstly, we pray in the name of Jesus Christ and no other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved. Let's remember Acts 4:12, Therefore let all the house of Israel know certainly that God has made him both Lord and Christ, this Jesus whom you crucified.
Secondly, while it is good to remember the heroes of the faith like Esther, Judas Maccabee, Gideon, and Elisha, we must not pray in their name or give them the reverence that belongs to God alone. We honor their memory and their examples but we do not pray to them or in their name. Our prayers must be directed to God alone through the name of Jesus Christ.
Now, let us pray together for Israel and the Middle East:
Heavenly Father, we come before you in the name of Jesus Christ, asking for your divine intervention in the Middle East and the West. We pray for the peace of Jerusalem, as commanded in Psalm 122:6, Pray for the peace of Jerusalem. They will prosper who love you. We ask for your protection over Israel and the Jewish people who are continually targeted by terrorist groups. We pray that you will thwart the plans of Hamas and Islamic Jihad, and bring confusion and division within their ranks, as you did for the enemies of Israel in the past in Judges 7:22. And the three companies blew the trumpets, and broke the pitchers, and held the torches in their left hands, and the trumpets in their right hands with which to blow; and they cried, The sword of Yahweh and of Gideon.
Father, we ask that you comfort and strengthen the people of Israel, and give them the assurance from Psalm 144:15, Happy are the people who are in such a situation. Happy are the people whose God is Yahweh.
We also pray for the salvation of the members of these terrorist groups, as you do not desire that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. We ask that you will reveal yourself to them, and that they will turn from their wicked ways and be saved from their sins.
Lastly, we pray for the leaders of Israel and the nations involved, that you will give them wisdom and guidance in their decisions. We ask that you will soften their hearts and turn them towards you, so that they may acknowledge you in all their ways, and you will direct their paths.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
