We understand that you're seeking peace and harmony in your family, especially during this holiday season. Let's bring your request to God together, aligning with His will and His word for your family.
Firstly, prayer in itself is essential. Let's remember Jesus' words encourging calling upon God and trusting God will answer:
Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened. Matthew 7:7-8 WEB
And if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach; and it will be given him. James 1:5 WEB
We trust God will hear and answer our prayers and that we are agreeing about this request together. We need the Holy Spirit to help us pray as well since he is praying for all the Christians:
But the Spirit himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. Romans 8:26 WEB
Let's pray:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, seeking Your peace and intervention in Gorgefrid's family. Lord, You are a God of love, kindness, and compassion. We pray that You will fill Gorgefrid's husband with Your Holy Spirit, softening his heart and replacing any critical or angry feelings with kindness and understanding towards their son, forgiving him of any sins or shortcomings, healing any harm done by his anger.
Lord let your love be shown towards all the family and help the husband forgive any wrongs and replace possible grudges with understanding and patience, just as Jesus showed love and forgiveness to everyone from the cross:
Father, forgive them, for they don't know what they are doing. Luke 23:34 WEB
Your Word teaches us to be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake has forgiven you. Ephesians 4:32 WEB. Guide this family to apply Your Word in their lives, transforming their hearts and actions Harsh words stir up anger. Proverbs 15:1 WEB. Lord, help Gorgefrid and her family to be like Jesus, He is kind and merciful forever (James 5:11).
Right now we are reminding ourselves we can trust you God to bless the whole family:
You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you. Isaiah: 26:3 WEB
Surround their home with Your peace, especially during this holiday season. Let Your love and grace flow through each family member, creating an atmosphere of harmony and mutual respect. Trusting you to complete what we ask.
being confident of this very thing, that he who began a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ Philippians 1:6 WEB
Jesus taught being angry with your brother causes you to 'be in danger of the judgment The Bible does not provide any caveat saying that it is acceptable to be angry with a close relative' (Matthew 5:22).
Moreover, concerning being peacemakers:
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called children of God Christian Standard Bible Matthew 5:9.
In Jesus' name, we rebuke any spirit of anger, criticism, or strife attempting to disrupt the family's peace, reminding you that the Holy Spirit should control us (Ephesians 5:18). Let concern for your son's wellbeing and his future take precedence.
We also pray for Gorgefrid, that God will give her wisdom, courage and strength to support her family, being a reflection of Christ's love and patience. We also pray she can intervene and help the family dynamic. Apart from God we can do nothing (Matthew 19:26). Trust God to help you.
We also pray for their son, that God will guide and protect him, giving him the wisdom to honor his parents, grow in His wisdom, and live a life pleasing to God. Raise a godly child according to your Bible that you have:
Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it. Proverbs 22:6 WEB
Children, obey your parents in all things, for this pleases the Lord. Colossians 3:20 WEB.
May their home be filled with the joy and love as Jesus promised:
that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be made full John 15:11 WEB.
Finally, to be clear:
There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, wherein we must be saved. Only by the name Jesus can we be saved. Acts 4:12 WEB
And whatever you may ask in my name, that I will do But if you ask anything in my name, I will do it. John 14:13 WEB
To God be the glory for all great things He will do.
In Jesus Christ's name we pray.
