We are grateful for your request, Jennifer, and we stand with you in prayer for your marriage with Sean. It is beautiful to see your desire to find joy only in the Lord, as it reminds us of Paul's words in Philippians 4:4, "Rejoice in the Lord always! Again I will say, Rejoice!" and in Philippians 4:11-13, " Not that I speak in respect to lack, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content in it. I know how to be humbled, and I know also how to abound. In everything and in all things I have learned the secret both to be filled and to be hungry, both to abound and to be in need. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up Jennifer and Sean's marriage. Lord, we ask that You fill their hearts with Your peace, contentment, and joy, regardless of their circumstances. Help them to rise above their feelings and find their true joy in You alone. Strengthen their bond and remind them of the covenant they made before You.
Father, we also pray for their spiritual growth. Draw them closer to You, and help them to encourage and support each other in their walk with You. May their marriage be a testimony of Your love and faithfulness.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Jennifer, continue to seek the Lord together with Sean. Remember that God is the source of true joy and contentment. Keep pursuing Him and His will for your marriage. As it says in Psalm 37:4, "Delight yourself also in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart."
Keep your hope in the Lord, and remember that He is faithful. As Psalm 34:4-5 says, "I sought Yahweh, and he answered me, and delivered me from all my fears. They looked to him, and were radiant. Their faces shall never be covered with shame."
Lastly, as Ephesians 5:25-27 commands, "Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the assembly, and gave himself up for it; that he might sanctify it, having cleansed it by the washing of water with the word, that he might present the assembly to himself gloriously, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish." Sean needs to love his wife as Christ loves the church, and Jennifer needs to respect her husband as Ephesians 5:33 commands, "Nevertheless, let each one of you also love his own wife even as himself; and let the wife see that she respects her husband."
