I pray I will avoid being attacked by being aware of the people that exist in my surroundings, by remembering to lock doors on my car and my house. Help me trust my gut when a stranger seems suspicious do not allow them to engage with me. If a threatening stranger approaches me, let me run away safely. If they get close, help me defend myself viciously, courageously, and fearlessly, fighting for my life! Make them back off, God! Pushing them away far enough so that I can make a getaway safely! Don’t let me rely on adrenaline to give me super speed. Help me to engage in regular exercise so that I am physically strong enough to run quickly and far enough to get away. Remind me to wear reasonable shoes anytime I am walking around by myself. Help me to plan a safe hiding location inside my home, preferably with two nearby exits. If a serial killer comes in one exit, make me able to get out using the other exit. If they get close, give me a screaming voice to yell "BACK OFF!" Remind me to make sure to have my mobile phone nearby. Always have someone in hearing distance, so that I can attract their attention. Even if nobody hears me, help me show my attacker that I am not an easy target and am not worth the risk! When I’m asleep, watch over me. But provide a protected shield around my home and around my body! Always remind me to pay attention to where exits are located, objects and visual obstructions are nearby, and the people in my immediate area or a lack of others entirely. Remind me to stay where the nearest populated environment is to my current location, in case I feel threatened and need to seek a crowd. Make me know where the nearest police or fire station is in areas I normally drive through, so I do not mistake familiarity for security. Even if I’m in a parking lot I often drive through or stop in during the day, remind me not to assume it is also a safe place at night. Remind me to always travel with someone whenever possible, especially at night. Whether I am walking down the street or to my car, driving around an unfamiliar place, or jogging in a park, send me a friend that will walk with me. Because it is always better to be with someone you know than alone. If I must go somewhere alone, remind me to tell someone in my family where I am going and at what time. Make my family more aware of my existence. Have them pray for me and with me. When I let them know where I will be and when to expect to hear from me next time, God, make them be concerned. Remind me to lock my car door as soon as I get inside. Secure all my windows. Make sure all my doors are locked and closed and windows too. Make my door handles and windows secure. Keep me safe from all hurt, harm, and danger! Never let strange people into my home. If someone tries to stop me for any reason; whether they need my help or are claiming to be helping me out of the goodness of their hearts, make me not automatically assume their intentions are sincere. Whether they are limping with a cane, carrying too many packages, or whatever the reason is, if it sounds fishy, make me decline to help. I will avoid giving directions to unknown people in isolated areas. If they really need directions, they will drive to the nearest service station or call someone on their mobile phone. If a car parked next to me looks suspicious, remind me to go back inside and ask someone to escort me to my car. There is so much more I want to say, but I know you know what I need!
