We join with you, momowei, in lifting up your marriage and your husband Todd to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We are encouraged that you have acknowledged the power of God and His ability to do all things, and that you have rightly called on the name of Jesus. It is in His name alone that we have access to God, and it is by His name that we are saved. As the Scripture says, "in no other is there salvation, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!" WEB
Firstly, we commend you for seeking godly counsel from your pastor and for your desire to work on your marriage. As it is written, "The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, but he who is wise listens to counsel." WEB. We also agree with your pastor's advice that it is better to work on the marriage than to experience the pain of divorce. As the Lord says, "For I hate divorce, says the Lord, the God of Israel." WEB
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up our sister momowei and her husband Todd. Lord, we ask that You continue to bless their marriage and work in both of their hearts. We pray that You soften Todd's heart and open his spiritual eyes and ears to hear Your words and the words You speak through Pastor Gary. We ask that You enable Todd to recognize and pick up the call from Pastor Gary, even if the number is unknown to him. Lord, we know that nothing is impossible for You, and we trust in Your power to work in this situation. We ask that You fill both momowei and Todd with Your Spirit, guiding them in truth and love. We stand in faith with momowei, trusting in You to do a mighty work in their marriage.
Now, while we pray and support you in this, we also want to encourage you to continue to live in a manner that is pleasing to the Lord. Remember the words of Paul, "Wives, be subject to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, as Christ also is the head of the assembly, being himself the savior of the body. But as the assembly is subject to Christ, so let the wives also be to their own husbands in everything." WEB And husbands, are likewise charged, "Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the assembly, and gave himself up for it;" WEB
Finally, we encourage both of you to be washed in the word, so that you may be equipped to do every good work and have your marriage grow strong in the Lord. As Paul told the Ephesians, "Even the husband will love his wife even as himself; and let the wife see that she respects the husband."
