Oralornel, we are truly sorry to hear about the passing of your father and the difficulties you are facing with his second wife. In times like these, it's important to remember that God is our ultimate comfort and strength. As it is written in Psalm 147:3, "He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds."
Firstly, we want to encourage you to continue trusting in God, as you have been doing. His ways are higher than our ways, and He sees the entire picture when we see only a part. Remember, "The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who are crushed in spirit" (Psalm 34:18).
Regarding the coldness and exclusion you're experiencing, Jesus teaches us to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us (John 13:34-35). This doesn't mean what's happening is fair or right, but rather, it's an opportunity to show the love of God even in difficult circumstances. Pray for your stepmother, that God would soften her heart and bring about a change in her. As you've mentioned, God can turn a heart of stone into a heart of flesh (Ezekiel 36:26).
However, we must also address the issue at hand. It is not biblical to show favoritism or exclude family members from matters concerning the deceased. In fact, the Bible warns against showing favoritism (James 2:1-4). We rebuke the spirit of exclusion and favoritism, and we pray that God will bring to light any hidden motives or injustices.
Let us pray together:
"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You today to lift up Oralornel and their family. Lord, they are hurting, feeling excluded and treated coldly. We ask for Your comfort and strength to surround them. Lord, we pray for a change of heart in their stepmother. Soften her heart, Lord, and help her to act with kindness and fairness. We pray that any evil forces behind this situation would be rebuked and bound in Jesus' name. We ask that You would bring resolution and peace to this sad situation, and that Your will would be done. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
Lastly, we encourage you to continue seeking God's will in this matter. Keep praying, keep trusting, and keep showing love. God is faithful, and He will see you through this difficult time.
