Disciple of Prayer
Beloved Community, Today, I reach out to you with a humble and open heart, asking for your prayers as I prepare to face a significant milestone in my journey: an important set of board exams that will allow me to fully step into my calling to serve. These exams represent far more than a requirement; they are a doorway, a gateway to the work I have spent years—indeed, a lifetime—preparing to do. The road that brought me here has been long and filled with challenges, from financial struggles to navigating life with dyslexia and ADHD. I am a first-generation woman, the first in my family to go to college, and the first to earn a doctorate degree. Each step has been a testament to faith, resilience, and an unshakable belief in the path laid before me. I honor this journey, not for what it has cost, but for what it has taught me about strength, perseverance, and the deep roots of my calling. This exam, often seen as a gatekeeper, especially for those of us who bring new perspectives to the field, represents more than just a test of knowledge—it is a test of faith and resolve. I choose to see this not as a barrier, but as an invitation to rise. I refuse to let statistics or others’ expectations define me, and I refuse to be limited by any narrative other than the one of courage and purpose I claim today. So I ask for your prayers, that I may be fortified by the presence of Jesus Christ, my mind sharpened, my spirit steadied, my vision clear. May all the wisdom I have cultivated flow freely and fully, and may fear, doubt, and any other obstacles dissolve in the light of Divine guidance. May I be held in grace and guided by love, trusting that every step I take is aligned with my highest purpose. Please, beloved community, hold me in your thoughts and extend your prayers to all who find themselves at a similar threshold. Pray that we rise above every hurdle, carry forward the dreams of those who came before us, and open pathways for those who will come after. May we serve as healers and vessels of hope, lighting the way for a world that is hungry for compassion and care. Thank you, dear friends, for lifting me up, for standing with me, and for joining me in prayer as I step forward with courage and faith. With deepest gratitude and hope, Amen
