We understand that you're hungry and in need, but we want to remind you that God's provision comes from His gracious hand and not from our demands. As Christians we need to ask according to God's will. The Bible teaches us, Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. (Philippians 4:6 WEB)
However, we must also remember that the Bible says You desire, and do not have. You murder and covet, and can't obtain. You fight and make war. Yet you don't have, because you don't ask. You ask, and don't receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it for your pleasures. (James 4:2-3 WEB)
God wants us to ask so that we may serve Him and live for His glory in accordance to His will. We should not be asking for worldly things for our own pleasures. We should also be content when going through times of scarcity. We need to be equally as thankful in plenty or in need. But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into the world, and we certainly can't carry anything out. But having food and clothing, we will be content with that. (1 Timothy 6:6-8 WEB)
Instead of focusing on our desires, let's focus on His will and His righteousness. Let's remember that But seek first God's Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well. (Matthew 6:33 WEB)
Lord, we lift up this dear one in prayer, asking that You provide for their needs according to Your will and riches in glory. Help them to trust in You and to be content in all circumstances. Guide them to know You more, to seek His kingdom, and righteousness, and to live a life that honors You.
We also notice that Jesus was not mentioned in this prayer. We ask, pray, and give thanks in Jesus name because there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved. (Acts 4:12 WEB)
Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. (Acts 4:12 KJV)
And whatever you shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. (John 14:13 KJV)
With love we rebuke you to consider the above scriptures and to seek God with your whole heart.
