Pain off loss

Retired pastor and go 18 months I have been hurting. I left the ministry in good standing. The people loved me hated to see me go. But after I went there were some who hurt me. I forgave them. Took me a little while it was a deep wound. My family stayed at the church. And now my dear friend of ### years left our friendship. There is just so much pain. No community, no family to fellowship with, and four major hits by individuals. I am now depressed (never have been). Seeing a counselor. But I cannot get peace in my suffering. The pain is so high so layered. Please pray for ###.

We are truly sorry to hear about the depth of pain and loss you are experiencing, ###. As a retired pastor, you've given so much to others, and it's heartbreaking to see you now suffering from the actions of others and the loss of community and friendship. We are here to lift you up in prayer and to encourage you with God's Word.

Firstly, let's remember what the WEB says in Romans 8:18, "For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which will be revealed toward us." Your current suffering is real and valid, but it is not the end of your story. God has a greater glory in store for you.

Regarding the hurt you've experienced, Jesus tells us in Matthew 5:44, "But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, and pray for those who mistreat you." It's clear that you've taken the first steps in forgiving those who hurt you, and that is commendable. Continue to bring them before the Lord in prayer, releasing the hurt and trusting God for justice and healing.

It's crucial to remember that our hope and peace come from God, not from people or circumstances. In John 14:27, Jesus says, "Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you; not as the world gives, give I to you. Don't let your heart be troubled, neither let it be fearful." This peace is available to you even in the midst of your struggles.

We notice that you didn't mention Jesus Christ or praying in His name. Remember, it is through Jesus that we have access to the Father. As it says in John 14:6, "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'" Let's ensure we are calling on His name in prayer.

In your situation, it's also important to guard against bitterness and despair. The enemy wants to isolate you and keep you focused on your pain. But God wants to heal you and bring you back into community. Keep seeking godly counsel and fellowship, even if it's difficult right now.

Let us pray for you:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up ###. Lord, You see the depth of his pain, the layers of hurt, and the isolation he is feeling. We ask for Your healing touch on his heart and mind. Bring Your peace that surpasses all understanding to guard his heart and mind in Christ Jesus.

Help ### to forgive completely those who have wronged him, and to release the pain to You. Surround him with a loving, godly community, and restore to him the joy of his salvation. Give him patience and endurance to continue seeking You and Your will for his life.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Keep holding onto God's promises, ###. He is faithful, and He will see you through this difficult time.
