40 days Day 4
Good morning all. How are you doing? How was your day yesterday? Did you think about the questions from yesterday?

Let's look at question 1. - what does standing mean to you?

The definition of stand :
An attitude toward a particular issue; a position taken in an argument

So one question I have what is your position on your stand for you marriage? Is. It that this is what God has spoken to you, or is it that you miss your husband and came across this as a way to get him back? Or maybe someone told u Divorce is wrong so you stand because u feel that divorce is wrong.

We really have to Dig deep and find out what standing means to us as an individual. If u have not defined what standing means to you than will Falter in your stand or redefine it when the going gets tough.

This is not the same as why do u stand. We will look at that tomorrow. Some of us didn't know what standing meant or had never heard of the word, but we took the position that Divorce is not an option. Some of us we decided this before we even heard of RMM or before we had a close relationship with God. It was an intrinsic instinct that this isn't right.

Standing to me means that I have taken a position on marriage and. I am sticking to it. My position is that when I got married I said for better or worse and I really meant it. But as I found out more and more about standing. Standing to me also means I am standing in the gap for my husband and it is my responsibility as a wife and a child of God to take a firm position that my husband salvation is more important than my restoration. I will not give up on my husband no matter what he may want or feels.

I will stand in the gap for him our children and our marriage.

So every one really define. Why you are standing. Because if u cannot define why it will get blurred as the attacks come and you may decide that it is not worth it, but for me my husband’s salvation is more important.

You have been writing prayers and praises in your journal for a few days. Take a few minutes to go through them and if any have already been answered, please write the date they were answered next to them. This is how you build faith and praise. As you see that God is right there with you every day answering your prayers your faith builds and encourages you more and more.

Good morning ABBA, as we turn to you this morning First I want to give you all the praise. I want to thank you for giving me the strength and wisdom to seek you first. Thank you for giving me the wisdom to stand in the gap for my husband. Father as we think about what standing means to each of us please guide us in your way and will for our marriage and our lives.

I believe that Jesus hates divorce. That is the Christian view. I think today people are very selfish and that the minute things go wrong or they get bored with one another, they bail. I blame this on our selfish and hedonistic society. I blame this also on living together before marriage. The stats on failure of marriages where the parties have lived together before marriage show that their marriages are more likely to fail than those who did not. Is not just about the taint of  premarital you-know on the marriage. It also  has to do with the fact that people living together tend to continue to put their absolute best feet forward at all times so they don't get a realistic pic of what the other one is like. They are in a way constantly on their first date. Another problem with this is that people change after they get married. Once you are married, the real person comes out, warts and all. And in our society, we just don't accept that. As soon as the honeymoon is over, somebody bails. So, yeah, all these are factors should be considered when you talk about the sanctity of marriage. I had one boyfriend years ago who even said it: He proposed marriage to me. When I told him I had reservations about our compatibility in the long run, he said it was not big deal. He said if we did not get along, we could always get divorced. I see so much pain on this site having to do with failing marriages. It is happening because we are so far away from God and so corrupted. Our concept of marriage has eroded. We no longer think of it as a covenant between the couple and with God. We accept common law marriage and living together before marriage, and now we are beginning to accept homosexual marriage. That further erodes the concept of marriage that has stood throughout all time -- That marriage is only marriage when it occurs between a man and a woman. Another problem -- Abortion and in my view contraception. We no longer think of children as gifts from God. Instead they are looked upon as burdens. Is pathetic. Given all this though, I think that in cases of emotional and/or physical abuse, desertion, the other party on drugs and won't get off, etc., after every possible alternative has been tried and tried in good faith, then divorce is the only thing left. My reason for saying this is in these situations, there really is no longer a real marriage left. I also believe that Jesus could never be so cruel as to condemn a person who has been abused, deserted, had her children deserted, been possibly beaten, stalked, etc, to then have to live a life of lonliness because she was forced to divorce. I think it is no different than if she were widowed. I think this is even more true if there had been repeated infidelity on the part of her spouse. That is a mockery of their marriage vows which I think nullifies these vows after a certain point. I guess what I am saying is that I do very much stand up for the sanctity of marriage. I think, however, that as long as the society has turned its back on God and is not recognizing the sacredness of the marital union, things will only get worse in this regard.  Oh an final comment of yours I wish to address: It is wonderful that you care about your husband's salvation. Married couples are to help one another to get to Heaven. But in the end, each of us is responsible for our own salvation. Is in the Bible: We must work out our salvation "in fear and trembling." We come to you lifting up this Dear One's needs. You know their heart Lord, and you know their situation. We ask that you please grant them their request by your will in Jesus Name. We ask that in the absence of what cannot be understood that you would grant peace beyond understanding. Send them help from the people around them, and also help from those you wish for them to meet. Oh Father, thank you for sending them love and comfort, peace and joy, that you may grant them full measure of favor and prosperity In Jesus Precious Name we pray, To God be the Glory, Amen.

We all hope that our prayers are answered in the way that we want. Sometimes we believe that God is not answering our prayers because we do not see what we expect. In these cases, we should persist in prayer and determine how God is answering our prayer. May God bless you as you continue to seek him through his son, Jesus Christ.
