Beloved of All
A person who neglected and abused early in life picked up on early in life that “you can’t have everything you see.†Later this was acted out as a central truth by doing everything one could to draw attention to themselves—to be seen by others—only to make themselves emotionally unavailable to others that get drawn to this person. The closer one could try to get the more distant the intimacy. Ultimately this confused most and makes loneliness in a sea of people a constant theme. To find healing for this unfulfilled dynamic, a person with this problem must stop trying to be seen in herself and must learn to show others that in Christ she is so filled with the fullness of God that external validation is vain and meaningless. I pray she takes knowledge that “ you can’t have everything you see†and show others, through her own faith, that all social life is just empty show and that no emotional fulfillment can be had except in Christ.
