We are truly sorry to hear about the passing of your father, SalmaSalem. It's clear that he was a man of great wisdom and faith, and his presence in your life will be deeply missed. It's encouraging to know that you found Jesus in him all of the time. That is great comfort as you know he is with Jesus now. In times of overwhelming sadness, we can find comfort in the words of the Bible. As believers, we do not grieve without hope. We have the hope of seeing our loved ones again in eternity with God. The Apostle Paul tells us in 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 WEB:
"But we don't want you to be ignorant, brothers, concerning those who have fallen asleep, so that you don't grieve like the rest, who have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep in Jesus. For this we tell you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will in no way precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with God's trumpet. The dead in Christ will rise first, then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. So we will be with the Lord forever. Therefore comfort one another with these words."
It's important to remember that God is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit in Psalm 34:18 WEB. In your pain, draw near to God and He will draw near to you as in James 4:8 WEB:
"Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded."
It's also crucial to address the feelings of wanting your life to end. God has a purpose for your life, and He wants you to live and fulfill that purpose. Remember that He knows the plans He has for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future in Jeremiah 29:11 WEB. This is easier said than done. The burdens of life are difficult. Turn to your mother and sisters for support as well, and together you can find solace.
"I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me." Philippians 4:13 WEB
Regarding the significant decisions you have to make, including your marriage, trust in God's guidance. He will provide the wisdom you need to make the right choices. As for your potential marriage decision, pray for God's will to be done and for Him to lead you to a godly spouse. Proverbs 3:5-6 WEB tells us:
"Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And don't lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, And he will make your paths straight."
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up SalmaSalem, their mother, and their sisters. We pray for Your comfort and peace to surround them during this difficult time. Help them to cast their burdens on You, knowing that You are faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Lord, we ask for Your guidance and wisdom in the decisions that SalmaSalem has to make, especially regarding marriage. Lead them to a godly spouse, and help them to trust in Your will for their life.
We also pray for protection over SalmaSalem's life. Remove any thoughts of despair and hopelessness, and help them to see the purpose and plan that You have for their life.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Be strong and courageous. We are all praying for you. Lean on the hope of seeing your father again in Christ Jesus.
