We understand that you're feeling overwhelmed, anxious, and restless, with unwanted thoughts racing through your mind. First, we commend you for turning to God in this time of need and for seeking forgiveness. It's important to remember that it is only through Jesus Christ that we have access to God. As it is written in the World English Bible "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus," (1 Timothy 2:5 WEB) and "in no other is there salvation: for there is no other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved." (Acts 4:12 WEB). Know that God is faithful and forgiving. He assures us in 1 John 1:9 (WEB), If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
In times of anxiety, remember that God commands us to Be still, and know that I am God (Psalm 46:10 WEB). It is through stillness and trust in Him that we find peace. Cast your burden on Yahweh, and he will sustain you. He will never allow the righteous to be moved. (Psalm 55:22 WEB).
When unwanted thoughts come, take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. 2 Corinthians 10:5 (WEB). Fix your mind on positive things. Philippians 4:8 (WEB) Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report; if there is any virtue, and if there is any praise, think about these things.
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father, we come before you in Jesus' name, lifting up our brother/sister who is feeling overwhelmed, anxious, and restless. We ask for Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, to guard their heart and mind through Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:7 WEB). Help them to be still and know that You are God. Give them strength to take captive every thought and make it obedient to Christ. Forgive any sins they may have committed, whether knowingly or unknowingly. Guide their thoughts and help them focus on what is true, honorable, just, pure, lovely, and of good report. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Be encouraged! "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God." (Philippians 4:6 WEB). Keep communicating with God and trust in Him.
