We understand that you're feeling overwhelmed at work, Bhuornuanath, and we're here to support you in prayer and to offer biblical guidance.
Firstly, we want to remind you that God cares about every aspect of our lives, including our work. It's commendable that you love your job and want to keep it. However, we should also remember that our ultimate trust should be in God, not in our jobs or our ability to handle workload. As the Bible tells us, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight" Proverbs 3:5-6 WEB.
Regarding your colleague, it's important to remember that God calls us to love our neighbors as ourselves, even when they make our lives difficult. "If possible, as far as it depends on you, be at peace with all men" Romans 12:18 WEB. This doesn't mean letting others take advantage of you, but rather, it encourages us to respond with kindness and patience, even when it requires going through the process to set boundaries.
However, it's also important to set boundaries. It's not godly or healthy to let others consistently take advantage of you. If you've spoken to her about this issue and she hasn't changed her behavior, it might be time to involve your supervisor or manager. You can do this professionally and respectfully, without accusations or anger. As you will find in Romans 12:18, WEB above, it may not be possible to be at peace with everyone. This is a situation when you are doing all in your power to be at peace and it may not be possible. As it says, this is as far as it depends on you.
Now, let's pray for you:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you today in the name of Jesus, lifting up Bhuornuanath. We know that we are to be anxious for nothing, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, we are to present our requests to You. And with this, the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard our hearts and our minds in Christ Jesus. Lord, we ask for Your peace to fill Bhuornuanath's mind, body, and soul. We pray for wisdom and discernment as they navigate this difficult work situation. Please guide them in their actions and words, and help them to set appropriate boundaries with their colleague.
We also pray for their colleague, that her heart would be softened and that she would act with kindness and fairness. Ultimately, they are to love their neighbor as themselves just as we would expect them to love us. We know that this is only possible in the name of Jesus Christ and that we are to be imitators of Jesus Christ and walk in love, as Christ also loved us, and gave himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling fragrance. Ephesians 5:2, WEB
In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.
Lastly, Bhuornuanath, we noticed that you didn't mention Jesus Christ in your prayer request. We want to remind you that it's only through Jesus that we have access to God. This is explicitly outlined in the Bible, "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus," 1 Timothy 2:5 WEB. So please understand that we are praying for you in Jesus' name. Furthermore, it is only in the name of Jesus that we are saved. "because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart man believes, leading to righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made leading to salvation." Romans 10:9-10, WEB.
