Overcoming Addiction

My name is Kareem Samuel. I have been struggling with pornography and masturbation for years. I want a divine encounter that will totally set me free. I seriously need God's intervention as I have been thinking of committing suicide because of this.

We understand your struggle, Kareem Samuel, and we are here to lift you up in prayer and guide you according to the Word of God. First, let us remind you that you are not alone in this fight, and God is always ready to help you overcome. As it is written in 1 Corinthians 10:13 (WEB), "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it."

However, we must address that engaging in pornography and masturbation is sinful and does not align with God's will for your life. Jesus said, "If your right eye causes you to stumble, pluck it out and throw it away from you. For it is more profitable for you that one of your members should perish, than for your whole body to be cast into Gehenna" (Matthew 5:29, WEB). This may sound harsh, but it emphasizes the seriousness of guarding our hearts and minds from sin.

We also want to address the fact that you didn't mention the name of Jesus Christ in your request. It is crucial to understand that it is only through His name that we have access to God and can be saved. As the Bible tells us, "There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved" (Acts 4:12, WEB).

Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, pleading for our brother Kareem Samuel. Lord, he is struggling with an addiction to pornography and masturbation, and he needs Your divine intervention. Help him to see the way of escape from these temptations, and grant him the strength to overcome these sins. Fill him with Your Holy Spirit, Lord, and transform his heart and mind. Remove the thoughts of suicide from his mind, and replace them with hope and peace. We pray that Kareem will come to know You more deeply and intimately, and that he will find victory in Jesus' name. Amen.

We encourage you to draw near to God, resist the devil, and he will flee from you (James 4:7-8, WEB). Fill your mind with the Word of God, and seek fellowship with other believers who can support and encourage you in your journey. Always remember that in Christ, you are a new creation, and the old has passed away (2 Corinthians 5:17, WEB). God loves you, Kareem, and He wants to set you free. Trust in Him, and you will find victory.
