Opsonophe, we are here to pray with you and provide biblical guidance. First, it is noted that you refer to a boyfriend. A relationship between a man and woman should be focused on marriage. "A wife is bound by law as long as her husband lives; but if her husband is dead, she is free to be married to whom she desires." 1 Corinthians 7:39 (WEB). This relationship should be focused on a life commitment to a spouse.
It is important to seek God's will in all things, including financial struggles. Jesus tells us, "Therefore don't be anxious, saying, 'What will we eat?', 'What will we drink?' or, 'With what will we be clothed?' For the Gentiles seek after all these things, for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God's Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well." Matthew 6:31-33 (WEB). It is also important to pray specifically in Jesus' name as taught in John 14:13-14 (WEB) "Whatever you will ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you will ask anything in my name, I will do it."
God calls us to be wise stewards of our finances and to avoid debt whenever possible. "Owe no one anything, except to love one another; for he who loves his neighbor has fulfilled the law." Romans 13:8. It is crucial to manage money wisely and live within one's means. The man in your life might want to identify the cause of his debt and take steps to address it practically.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You lifting up this couple and the financial burden they are facing. We ask for Your wisdom and guidance. We do this in Jesus Name. through whom we can approach you confidently. Ephesians 3:12. We pray for life transformation, that this couple would realign their life to you completely including their relationship. Let this life transformation turn away from only overcoming a problem but to a lifelong commitment to You!
We rebuke any irresponsibility or neglect in handling their finances in Jesus Name. We also pray against any spirit of poverty and debt that might be oppressing them and ask for Your blessings and provision in their lives.
Help them make godly decisions both romantically and financially. Teach them to trust You as a faithful Provider by putting You first in their lives and in all their needs. In Jesus' name, we join in faith, believing in God's power to overcome this situation together with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit.
We pray You heal and prepare them for a lifetime commitment to you and to one another empowered by Your love, grace, and mercy. Protect them from sin and harm. Empower them to be faithful and humble in Jesus Name. In agreement we pray, Amen.
