We understand that you're feeling overwhelmed, MadisonGrl, and we're here to pray with you and offer biblical guidance. You've taken on too many commitments, and it's causing stress and concern about letting others down. First, we commend you for your willingness to serve, but we must also remind you of the importance of balance and the need to seek God's will in all things.
Jesus tells us in Matthew WEB:
Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart; and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
It's crucial to remember that our service should be led by the Holy Spirit and not out of mere obligation or fear of disappointing others. It's better to disappoint people and keep in step with the Holy Spirit. Jesus didn’t try to please everyone, but fulfilled the will of His Father. It’s important to follow the example of Jesus saying no and not being overburdened. It’s important to keep the great commission and fulfill the work of the Lord. However, this can be best served by keeping a long-term view and not overburdening yourself to the point of burnout. You should be renewed day by day in the spirit of your mind in keeping with the devoted life of prayer and service. It's better to step back now and have the opportunity to serve in those organizations in the future when the Lord allows you to.
In Proverbs WEB we read:
Better is a dry morsel of bread with peace, than a house full of feasting with strife.
It's not wrong to have limits, and it's important to communicate openly with those involved. You don’t need to drop everything. The key is to do it in a loving and respectful manner, trusting that God will work in the hearts of others. Pray for wisdom and guidance, and God will provide a way. This will help you decide which responsibilities to step back from and which to keep. You can give God the glory in the process as you share with others what the Lord is leading you to do.
1 Peter WEB:
Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time; casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you.
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you to lift up MadisonGrl, who finds herself over-committed and stressed. Lord, she has a heart to serve, but needs your guidance and wisdom in this situation. Help her to discern which commitments to release and which to keep, and help her to trust in You as she steps back from some of her responsibilities. Give her the courage to communicate openly and the humility to keep your will at the forefront. Give her the ability to put you first in her life and have daily devotions in Jesus Name. Give her the strength to avoid the temptation of the fear of man which is a snare. Lastly, help her to lose the fear of disappointing others and please you instead. Lord, we know your burden is light, and we trust in your promise to provide rest for the soul.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Lastly, it's important to note that it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. There is no other name by which we can be saved. Acts WEB:
in him you were also sealed with the promised Holy Spirit when you heard the word of truth, the Good News of your salvation, and when you believed.
