We are truly sorry to hear about your beloved pet Hobit and his health struggles. But God's Word reminds us: "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God."
1 Thessalonians 5:17-18 "Pray without ceasing. In every way give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you." While scripture indicates that humans are more important to God then animals and that it is very important who we direct our love and feelings to because it may lead us astray from what God commands, in Matthew 15-14, "If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honor, sanctified, and suitable for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work." you can rely on the Lord and bring the concerns that are close to your heart as long as they are not counter to scripture in any way. So you need to still pray and give thanks. Philippians 4:6. While humans are greater then animals, in Matthew 10:29 it is discussed that all animals are known and none forgotten by our Father.
God still cares when we suffer and this can often be present when a pet that has served us falls ill and suffers. The deeper issue seems to be that it may give us satisfaction and ease our conscience that "we will not have to say goodby to those we love." and while dogs are probably not of the higher intelligence the Bible notes in James 3:7, We need to be clear about many things if we will be walking in relationship with Christ. Jesus is not clear who he prays for and gives healing or relief and the Biblical response would appear to contradict prayers for an animal except in particular circumstances, but He has at times have given men the power to serve and continue to bring glory to Him (John 14:13), and knows that those who trust in Christ will abide by His Will. Again, how can one pray in the WEB clearly for animals? When in what is absolutely clear: "whatever you ask for in my name I will give it, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father."(John 14:13). Therefore You must and should "ask anything according to his will, he listens to us.(1 John 5:14), and never be clear that our Lord Wants good things to happen and give back to your pet because of His desire and love that you continue to know His.
Let's pray together:
Almighty God, our God, IJN we come before you, the Creator of all things on earth including our dear Hobit, requesting help for Him. But also are here recognizing Your Will for Hobit and grateful for Your Love, help him to accept the call of his Maker and Faithful Creator to Glory. Trusting you and loving You it is too hard for us to not save him nor pray to You that we that we forget that in all our ways (Proverbs 3:6) seek You "and acknowledge him and he shall direct my paths" and remember if we lift up ourselves or desires or rather then continuing to turn to God for redemption and obedience we mislead ourselves (James 4:7-8). This means how we endure to the end. O Lord deliver us to be loving you if we misunderstand our relationship and place Christ as higher then your love of others!
Lord, give us Grace and IJN we come to deliver Hobit to your Will, Peace with our treasured memories and relief during this grievous time for the enjoyment your servant gave us as our close companion animal. So we plead.
In the name of Jesus.
