"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God" (Phil 4:6). Trust His provision & love. But the disciples had forgotten to bring any food. They had only one loaf of bread with them in the boat. As they were crossing the lake, Jesus warned them, "Watch out! Beware of the yeast of the Pharisees and of Herod."
At this they began to argue with each other because they hadn't brought any bread. Jesus knew what they were saying, so he said, "Why are you arguing about having no bread? Don't you know or understand even yet? Are your hearts too hard to take it in? 'You have eyes — can't you see? You have ears — can't you hear?' Don't you remember anything at all?"

Mark 8:14-18 NLT

Key Thought

Worry is a sign we've forgotten the great blessings and providence of God in our past. That is why the praise we offer to God for what he has done for us is so important. Praise is a time when we rehearse and remember the great things God has done and remember the great God he has been in the past and has promised to be in our future. It helps us acknowledge that God was and is and always will be the great provider and Shepherd for his sheep.

Today's Prayer

O LORD God, you are my Great Shepherd. I recognize that every good thing I have comes from you. Forgive me for the times in the past when I have doubted your active providence in my life and worried about your sustaining grace for the future. I know that you can bless, support and sustain. Thank you. In Jesus' name. Amen.
