One More Anniversary

ONE MORE ANNIVERSARY

"Haven't you read," he replied, "that at the beginning the Creator 'made them male and female,' and said, 'For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh? So they are no longer two, but one. Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate." Matthew 19:4-6

Bob and I would have celebrated our covenant wedding anniversary yesterday. I cannot believe we were married 47 years ago! We were married on October 1, 1966 in a beautiful church wedding on a Saturday evening at 7:00 P.M. as our family and friends watched the ceremony.

"Blessed is she who has believed that what the Lord has said to her will be accomplished!" Luke 1:45

It thrills me to be able to see what the Lord is doing behind the scenes in saying, "The Lord can change you, your beloved spouse and marriage. Don't ever give up!" How many thousands if not millions of people have been praying for a healing and resurrection of hurting and dead marriages in our churches?

I believe that once the church goes back to teaching the sanctity of marriage, teaching couples they are one-flesh, that they have made a covenant with God and their spouse, teaching unconditional love to couples, as they learn to work through their problems, we the church can go out and better spread the Good News that Jesus Christ has the answer in rebuilding and reigniting love back into all marriages. To God be the glory!

"For nothing is impossible with God." Luke 1:37

Never would I have guessed 47 years ago, on our wedding day, that we would ever get divorced. I cannot praise the Lord enough, thanking Him every day for restoring our marriage. What the enemy meant for evil, our Lord has turned around to good. What our Lord did for our marriage, He can do for you and your marriage as He is no respecter of persons.

Every day I will praise you and extol your name for ever and ever. Great is the LORD and most worthy of praise; his greatness no one can fathom. One generation will commend your works to another; they will tell of your mighty acts. They will speak of the glorious splendor of your majesty, and I will meditate on your wonderful works. Psalm 145:2-5

I am amazed what the Lord has accomplished through us, especially in these last 23 years in ministry. We give our God all the glory and praise. We have been able to proclaim around the world that our Lord can heal hurting and dead marriages. I know because we were divorced and our marriage was hopelessly dead.

My personal goal is to serve the Lord proclaiming His Word about the sanctity and permanence of marriage and the power of our Lord transforming and changing people's lives and marriages until the Lord takes me home. We are humbled and honored to be a lighthouse for marriages around the world. We want to be more like the Lord every day, serving with His love and passion.

Will you believe in God's mighty power to be able to reignite and rekindle the love between you and your spouse? May you and I continue to pray that thousands of couples will make a renewed commitment to their marriage forever. May the Holy Spirit speak to prodigal hearts and that they will have a heart transplant.

"Is anything too hard for the LORD ?" Genesis 18:14

Believe in God's mighty power. Believe that your Lord can do miracles today. Believe in the promises of God that He has given you regarding your marriage. I pray that you will believe that your mighty God can breathe life back into your dead marriage. He can touch and change both your hearts and rekindle your love for each forever. The Lord can remove all the anger and strife that are separating you and your spouse right now. Stand firm in the power of your Lord God. Choose to be obedient to His will and way for your life and marriage. What a lighthouse you will be showing your children that your marriage is a lifetime commitment in the good times and in the bad times. You are married for life!

May we all remember the vows that we made on our wedding day. Do not forget the vow that you said to your spouse because of the behavior of your spouse right now. Remember, "Will you take _____ for your lawful wife/husband to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, until death do us part?"

Ever day choose to stand firm with your Lord Jesus Christ, believing in His mighty power to touch your spouse's heart, changing your marriage circumstances, suddenly. Believe that your Heavenly Father can and will rebuild your marriage on the solid rock of Jesus Christ.

"Have faith in God," Jesus answered. "I tell you the truth, if anyone says to this mountain, 'Go, throw yourself into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen, it will be done for him. Therefore, I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins." Mark 11:22-25

Do you need to fill up your love tank for your spouse today? Let me share a powerful scripture that means so much more to me today than it did when it was read at our wedding 47 years ago:

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. 1 Corinthians 13:4-8

Will you choose to start loving your spouse unconditionally forever?

Have a blessed day,
