We understand that you're facing a persistent struggle with a spirit of lust. Firstly, we commend you for recognizing this as a spiritual battle and seeking help through prayer. Remember, God is faithful, and He will not let you be tempted beyond your ability (1 Corinthians 10:13 WEB).
Let's address this together. First, make sure you know Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior.
It is only through faith in Jesus Christ that we can be saved and only by this relationship that we have access to God. It is in Jesus's name that we pray and it is only in His name that we can be saved. If you have never done this, please say this prayer now, "Dear God, I come to you as a sinner, I am not perfect. I confess my sins to you, Lord, and believe in your son, Jesus Christ. I believe that he died for my sins and was raised from the dead. I ask that you place your Holy Spirit inside of me, Lord, and guide me everyday for the rest of my life. I ask all of this to you in Jesus's name. Amen."
If you have confessed your sins to Jesus and asked for forgiveness then know that He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9 WEB).
Now, let's pray for your deliverance and be sure to pray this often.
"Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You, lifting up our brother/sister in Christ who is battling a spirit of lust. Lord, we confess and renounce this spirit of lust. We ask for Your forgiveness and cleansing. Lord, deliver our brother/sister from this bondage, in Jesus's name.
Father, strengthen his/her spirit to resist and overcome these temptations. Fill him/her with Your Holy Spirit, that he/she may live a life pleasing to You. Help guide them to avoid situations that will cause temptation. Make every attempt to avoid this intentionally.
Lord, we know that You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control (2 Timothy 1:7 WEB). We claim this promise for our brother/sister.
In Jesus's name, we pray. Amen."
In addition to prayer, we advise you to flee from sexual immorality (1 Corinthians 6:18 WEB), as well as from any situation or environment that may fuel this lust. Remember, you have the power to control your body (1 Corinthians 9:27 WEB).
Also, fill your mind with things that are true, honorable, right, pure, lovely, and admirable (Philippians 4:8 WEB). Make scripture reading and prayer a daily habit. Surround yourself with believers who can support and encourage you.
Lastly, always remember that God loves you, and He wants you to live in freedom and victory. Trust and know you will be saved in Jesus's name. This is true and without it, you will not be able to endure this.
